Why I HATE being called Black

Basically the thesaurus meaning.
Black has negative connotation attached to it, where as white has mostly positive connotation.
and its not a stupid question at all because I often say "black" because its easier to say "african American" in conversation,
but if I'm actively thinking about it Ill say African-American.
But the word black is mostly looked at negatively:
Black plague/death, black tuesday (stock market crash), black market, blacklisted, black spring, black hearted, black mail, black sheep, A black dot in caste system means "untouchable/untrustables"
To me, on a subconscious level (in my mind, your brain associated words with images/feelings/ideas) when you hear 'black' you just think bad automatically without realizing it.
Then theres white, which is commonly thought of as the opposite of black, which is mostly viewed in a better light. "Human culture has many references to white, often related to purity and cleanness"-wikipedia.
So people think "white and black" and connect that to, "day and night", "Good and evil" (good~ god, evil~devil). SO to me, your brain connects all that together.
I'd MUCH rather be thought of as chocolate, granted it is objectification, but between "black" and chocolate, I'd prefer the later. People desire chocolate, people love chocolate, but yea.
I get that I might be stretching... But the way I try to describe it... (and this is a little weird to, but work with me)
IMAGINE if the word for women was bitch lets say 400 years ago. No biggie back then, if you said 'bitch' it just meant women. So people would say "Bitchs and Gentleman" like they would say "Ladies and Gentlemen" because it wasnt a big deal, because that was the word for it at the time, and there was no real negative connotation for it back then.
Fastfoward 400 years... Now the word "bitch" has so much negative connotation to it. So now, you hear "bitch" and you cringe because of the associations that go with it, but you hear it all the time because....... The word for women was bitch back then and now its still used. That sort of what I am getting at. The word associated with a race is the same word associated with "dirty, unclean, evil, untrustable, illegal"
Hopefully this doesnt sound like a psycho-conspiracy FIGHT THE POWER babble.

Behind in the times, been super busy

behind in this blog, and MOST things I have to do in life. In less than 3 weeks, I am basically throwing one of the biggest/most important parties of my life.

Depending on how things go, I might take some aspects of that party and take it to other places.
I think I may seriously get into the wedding bizz.... I need a better camera tho, and more talent. Right now my goal is to get GREAT at this photography thing.

Right now i'm learning to be a better photographer, learning to be better at interviewing, and post production. OH its going to be a great summer after June 9th... OH IM looking forward to it. yup yup yup.

Must persevere! I will survive!

PS, if you are getting married, I 100% suggest that you get married in either A: a FAR AWAY location where 80% of the people wont be able to go
B: Vegas.

Itll save you SO much money and stress in the long run
C: City Hall

Again, lots of money, lots of stress.

My standing work desktop

Welcome to my workdesk. Tablogging this so it wont be a long post.

Basically a goal of mine in order to stop being so lazy was to always be standing at work.

Now everyone ask me about it at work. And when they catch me sitting they all give me ish about it. It helps keep me awake and active. I think they should offer standing desk at all jobs. Especially since i got fat after my first desk... gained so many pounds.. now im a fatass..but still.

May 9th, A day to remember

Its 30 days away from my wedding, and I have been stressing out about that, about work, and about other random ish. Ive decided I'm going to make myself business cards though, because recently I have been feeling myself. I want to finish that statement with "No Homo", but really ALL HOMO.

MAY 9th

PRESIDENT Obama basically gives his support to Gay and Lesbian Marriages. He Openly admits he supports support, where in the past he was sort of against this.

Probably a bad political move since 90% of America "Hates Fags" and "God Hates Fags", but I am glad he stepped up and spoke on, and supports gay marriage. Perfect timing for me because the book I am reading, which I suggest to everyone, is called "Sex And God: How religion distorts sexuality".

I actually started this book because Darrel Ray, The Author is going to be a guest on my Sex show  (YES I HAVE A SEX SHOW, SexAtTheBeach.Org for more details), so I figure I might as well read the book so I dont sound like an idiot once he is there. SO I am skimming this book, just marking down major details here and there and it hits me. DAMN, THIS IS A BOOK EYFIN BOOK. He manages to describe almost all of life just focusing on religion and sex. Somehow he manages to talk about so many questions ive had, or go thru some many experiences, DUDE, THIS IS AN AWESOME BOOK!

No Joke. This should be part of both human sexuality courses and part of .... any learning really. It sorta skims the surface on  a lot of issues, but have research to back up what it was saying, but it does do a good idea of skimming the surface on A  LOT OF ISSUES. I mean I feel like I am learning so much right now from reading this book.

It goes into a section about homosexuality, and religious guilt. I mean the book goes into major details. I feel like the events today, and this book have made me a very happy boy!

Back to blogging!

So after debating for awhile of what I want to do to pass the time, Ive finally decided of creating my own blog.... Again.

Yes, this would probably be the 10th blog I've created this time, but one I hope to keep. I really like the Title really. YES, Its The Dre Blog!

How conceited, a blog about just me? well, I will agree with you there, but really, I just have a lot of things I want to say and do and get them all down on some type of documentation fashion. Right now I host a sex show, host a sex blog, host a tech show, and many other little things. I find that, everything I want to say does not fit within those two realms. Leaving me with things to say, and noone really to say it to. Not that blogging is actually talking to somebody, but I feel like blogging almost feels like youre giving a speech.

The first time you give the speech, there is mostly only the people you invited, friends and family, but youre looking forward to the day where youre giving a speech and you see NOTHING but strangers in the crowd. Doesnt even matter if the like or hate you, it just matters because they are all there for you.

The problem with blogging though:
-Do you blog everyday? Or only when you have something good to say? consistency vs quantity vs quality.
-THERE ARE TOO MANY BLOGS OUT THERE! So you need your blog looking good, which isnt always possible with site unless youre willing to spend the extra dollars, plus ya need to stand out and advertise
-Content, I mean this is going to be me mostly rambling, but yea, ya gotta stay interesting, and you gotta stay fresh
-Target Audience. Whose mine? anyone willing to listen, but thats not a good approach.
-Censorship. I'm an open book, I dont mind talking about myself and telling people myself, but still, there are being I am close to and associate myself with that DO NOT want to their stories told. At the same time, there are some I expect to read and might be offended. So I essentially would have to create a double life, Dre the Blogger, and Dre-IRL (Code name Dirl). Speaking my mind can be disrepectful for some, I hope to approach it with a "fuck-um attitude", but I doubt thatll work

Thought of the day, perseverance!
