Prometheus

Ok so me and my good friend Corki went to go see, what I hoped was a GREAT MOVIE.

It was called prometheus. The trailers for the film were awesome. It basically depicted a horror-survival film. Even better, It was directed by Ridley Scott, basically the originator of science thrillers.

And if you havent seen the Trailer yet, its the one with the howling/whistling noise that get stuck in your head, but damn did it look awesome.

SO I was amped up, and I kept hearing people say bad things about it..... But I have heard mostly good things, so I didnt let that deter me.


WELL, the best way to sum up the movie, was basically a series of random mishaps that mostly have no connection to one another. And there were several moments that could use come type of explanation to get some meaning to what was going on. And the final scene of the movie just left me like....................................... REALLY!?!?!?!

I was overall disappointed. 5/10
Its not god awful terribble, but its by no means good. It was pretty, but plot was kinda dumb. Nothing really gets explained, nor do they offer explnation, and if you sat down to try to make sense of it all, you really cant.

NEW PLAN, Long Beach Marathon October 7th

So I have been trying to 'get myself out there i the world' and I saw that a Marathon is coming up.

MANY moons ago I used to run cross country, and I never stopped loving running. I just hate running in the city. It isnt fun. Running in neighborhoods, past houses, not my thing. 

I grew up in Palmdale/Lancaster area where we can basically run in the hills. We even gave each trail its own name (Popcorn, 3 bridged, Apls, Ridgecrest). Those were the days. I used to be able to do at least 5 miles without stressing. Now a days, a 30 second job feels like risking life or death

BUT NOW IM LOOKING AHEAD! Ive been looking to get my lazy ass in some better shape SO!

Oct 7th, I am signing up to do a 13.2 Mile run, which is a half marathon. Why a half Marathon?

1- I dont want to risk injury, I dont really have health insurance right now.

2- I really want to take photos

We want to thank everyone again for coming out, some of you came from FAR away to be there. (Texas, SF, Long Beach, WA, etc). We know the drive to Lancaster is not an easy one, especially when you are stuck in LA traffic. I realize it was kind of hot, but I’m glad a lot of you stuck with it. I hope you guys liked the setup and décor, we did try to go all out as we could. I saw a lot of smiling faces, especially after the alcohol started sinking in, and I’m glad a lot of you enjoyed yourselves (hopefully all of you did). Thanks pastor Huff for a beautiful and fun sermon, he flew all the way from WA at my request to do this wedding, I really want to thank him. I want to thank the picture crew, hopefully you had fun and thanks for all your directions. I want to thank the camera crew, hopefully we got some fun material for you to work with. I want to thank everyone for all your kind gifts and thank you for making this day special.

Dre Update

Its been awhile and I feel like I have been falling off the radar more and more as the days progress. So let me start off by saying, I feel like I'm leaving a double life.

Theres the normal Dre. Music, and into tech stuff. I think I am partially addicted to computers, And I consider myself to be 'jacked into' the matrix. Meaning, I cant really live without computer and internet connection. If youve ever been without internet for X amount of time, you'd understand what I mean. I have about 4-5 PCs, 1 for the TV, 1 I turned into a Picture Frame, 1 I use on a daily basis, 1 laptop, 1 netbook for mobile PC needs. I realize this is too many, but its me.

I co-host a technology/guy show called TreeHouseGeeks, http://thethg.com/ is the website ran by my cohost. Its  a fun show.

I recently got married. I live in Long Beach. NO real plans/goals for the moment, just testing the waters. I am thinking about going back to school, but currently I am getting into photography and videoagraphy (probably better described as youtube-agraphy).

My goals right now: lose weight (ive been enjoying food, time to stop!), become a better photographer/youtube-agraher, tightin up my DJin skillz, and thats it really.

^^ this is my radio program, "Sex At The Beach", which takes up a good majority of my time. A lot of people ask me how much money I make on that show. It actually cost me money to do that show, but I dont complain because not only do I enjoy doing that show, BUT, I believe in it. Granted the show does hit high points and low points. And the low points, you just got to work thru them if you can. so far so good.

^^ it really was a test to see if that work I was doing translated well (it was a Marvel/Xmen ish themed burlesque show)

I did Adultcon last year, It looks like we might be doing adultcon this year again. The number of hits we received for it (all the vids combined) came out to about 10K+ hits... for an amatuer like me.... 100 hits would have been great, but it forces me to do better and try harder.

Theres the show podcast SexAtTheBeach.podbean.com, we were a high ranked Itunes podcast but managed to actually get kicked off the podcast and it sucks because Apple doesnt tell you exactly why you get banned, but a list of reasons of why you COULD be banned. so right now you can download them on podbean, but I am working to get back on Itunes.

I havent had the time to do the blog, website, facebook pages, twitter, and youtube pages. Just been a little behind. If you have some ideas, or are kinda interested, get at me...... Because truthfully I am kinda swamped

Why I HATE being called Black

Basically the thesaurus meaning.

Black has negative connotation attached to it, where as white has mostly positive connotation.

and its not a stupid question at all because I often say "black" because its easier to say "african American" in conversation,
but if I'm actively thinking about it Ill say African-American.

But the word black is mostly looked at negatively:
Black plague/death, black tuesday (stock market crash), black market, blacklisted, black spring, black hearted, black mail, black sheep, A black dot in caste system means "untouchable/untrustables"

To me, on a subconscious level (in my mind, your brain associated words with images/feelings/ideas) when you hear 'black' you just think bad automatically without realizing it.

Then theres white, which is commonly thought of as the opposite of black, which is mostly viewed in a better light. "Human culture has many references to white, often related to purity and cleanness"-wikipedia.

So people think "white and black" and connect that to, "day and night", "Good and evil" (good~ god, evil~devil). SO to me, your brain connects all that together.

I'd MUCH rather be thought of as chocolate, granted it is objectification, but between "black" and chocolate, I'd prefer the later. People desire chocolate, people love chocolate, but yea.

I get that I might be stretching... But the way I try to describe it... (and this is a little weird to, but work with me)

IMAGINE if the word for women was bitch lets say 400 years ago. No biggie back then, if you said 'bitch' it just meant women. So people would say "Bitchs and Gentleman" like they would say "Ladies and Gentlemen" because it wasnt a big deal, because that was the word for it at the time, and there was no real negative connotation for it back then.

Fastfoward 400 years... Now the word "bitch" has so much negative connotation to it. So now, you hear "bitch" and you cringe because of the associations that go with it, but you hear it all the time because....... The word for women was bitch back then and now its still used. That sort of what I am getting at. The word associated with a race is the same word associated with "dirty, unclean, evil, untrustable, illegal"

Hopefully this doesnt sound like a psycho-conspiracy FIGHT THE POWER babble.
